Our Vision
Our Founder
The primary purpose of the foundation is to promote the ideals of self achievement by means of an advance education, vocational training and the promotion and improvement of community social activities. The foundation will continually strive to improve these endeavors by the active participation of each trustee member, our church leaders and the community at large. The collective support and assistance of these organizational groups will advance our purpose in tapping the hidden talents of our future leaders of tomorrow.
One of the main overriding purposes of this foundation is to reach beyond the educational institutions and to explore the root cause of our failing communities. We feel than an educational advancement should go hand in hand by ridding our communities of crime and corruption plus restoring the individual communities once again to family togetherness.
We welcome and strongly encourage, that those of you who join us in holding these purposes to be true, that we all join hands in striving to achieve a worthy cause for the betterment of our children for generations to come and the enhancement of human dignity for all mankind.

A NOTE FROM OUR CHAIR
Welcome! I am grateful you have interest in viewing our website. In May 1977 our visionary, Charles Weems, stepped out in faith with 7 newly appointed trustees, men and women, who shared his vision and passion to 'Help a Kid.' These men and woman comprised the first Board of Trustees of the Cocroft Weems Educational Foundation.
Our trustees resolved over 40 years ago to commit their time, talents and resources organizing, promoting and sustaining the Foundation for the expressed purpose of assisting students with scholarships to help offset expenses as they prepared to enter Post Secondary Education. We are grateful for each student whom we have met and been able to support with a Cocroft Weems Educational Foundation scholarship.
We have been fortunate over the years to meet bright, kind, talented young people who have had the desire to make a positive difference in the world we live in. We are grateful for each student we have been able to support with a CWEF scholarship. I am thankful for the esteemed service of the trustees over the years and I am excited as our newer trustees come to the CWEF offering their creativity, their energy, ideas, enthusiasm and talents to promote and preserve the Foundation we pray for many years to come.
Finally, the trustees of the Cocroft Weems Educational Foundation, embrace and affirm the adage, 'It takes a village to raise a child.' We at the CWEF are intentional and deliberate in our efforts to be an integral part of 'the village' for many years to come.
